As Sparks Fly Upward

Everyone who has been around or raised kids knows that without correction, we grow little, loved monsters. So why should we desire to be left to our own devises by our heavenly Father?

Because we like pleasure. We hate difficulty. A party all day long would be nice. Pain is not a welcomed teacher, but nature's chosen way. We trespass on the boundary of the fire pit and we get burned. Our nervous system is wired to communicate this painful loving care for our protection and we accept it as good.

Our spiritual body works the same way. Trials are designed to guide and strengthen. You cannot grow strong and mature on Easy Street. It's no wonder that alcoholism, therapy and suicide is highest in wealthy, first world places.

Notice however, how quickly and surely sparks of a fire fly up and die out. One after another. The element is necessary for survival, and by it we are warmed...even though the sparks sting. The sparks are always temporary and peace breaks are guaranteed. Encourage each other and help with the load.

Summertime bonfires are a Godsend. Both for comfort and for contemplation. Remember to expect, accept and even be grateful for the sparks of difficulty.

His grace is sufficient for you and me ❤️

"Yet man is born to trouble,
As the sparks fly upward...
Happy is the man whom God corrects;
Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
For He bruises, but He binds up;
He wounds, but His hands make whole"

Job 5

5x7...."As Sparks Fly Upward"
