Far From the Shallows

How are you with small talk? Don't you just love talking about the weather and general pleasantries? 

Not me. I'd like to skip all of that monotony and get right to the heart of your life. I want to know how your heart is doing. I want to hear about your passions, your endeavors and your dreams. Tell me something about yourself I didn't already know. Let's think through problems and seek wisdom together. Let's dive in instead of wading through shallow puddles of insignificance. 

Time is short...Let's make the most of it. 

So much spiritual talk/theology is "blablabla" too. Just feel good frosting of accolades and positive vibes, many not even grounded in any truth at all. The ground is found at the bottom of the deep. You have to go deep and face some darkness before setting foot on solid ground. The deep is actually safer, spiritually, than the surface, but many won't go there. It's too much work and too frightening. The deep is where the treasures are though. That's where you get to see the majesty of creation that the surface world only glimpses on rare occasions and lasts seconds, rather than forever. Sunsets, whale tails, shooting stars and flower blooms are all just advertisements for something greater. Something deeper. Don't settle for the glimpse,  seek for the fullness of Him. These are all testaments of what He is like, but oh, there is so much more!! Things you could never imagine, nor understand completely, but will waste your day at the beach if you don't dive in. 

Time is short...Take the most of Him. 

The song "Shallow" by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga still haunts me. It's  so true on a level they didn't even mean to preach. I had to paint it ❤
